Summer Beauty Must-have

When the season changes, it is  good opportunity to have fun with different products. For summer, we can try brighter colors for makeup, use more light weight skincare products, and control oil and shine. In this post, I am sharing a few items that I love to use during summer.

Let's start with skincare! Aloe Vera Gel is a great product to hydrate in the summer time. It's oil free, sooth sunburn and irritation. If there is a moisturizer you really like that is too heavy for summer, you can mix the moisturizer with some aloe vera. Sunscreen is also a must-have in summer days, it is important to protect your skin from the UVA and UVB. This sunscreen I choose is broad spectrum with SPF 30, and it is also aloe vera based. If you need to learn more about sunscreen, you can read my older post: "What is UVA, UVB, and SPF?"

Moving on to makeup, make sure you use a primer that can help reduce shine. The Porefessional from Benefit is oil-free, lightweight, and silky smooth. It prevent the face from getting shiny during the day and minimize the appearance of pores. No matter what foundation you use, set it with a translucent powder to mattify your face. I love the translucent powder from Laura Mercier. It creates a matte finish that is soft to the touch. If you prefer a lighter makeup look, use a big powder brush to apply powder. If you want to set your makeup further more, use a puff to press the powder onto your face.

To enhance your summer glow, use a bronzer on where the sun naturally hits. I love my NARS Laguna Bronzer, I also use it to contour my face. Read Contour Like a Pro for a step by step tutorial on how to contour your face. This color also works well as an eyeshadow for a natural smokey look. A shimmery golden eye makeup is also a beautiful summer look. I am loving this Fantasy Wonderland Eyeshadow Kit from Solone. It has multiple shimmering colors to create different looks. And, the gold color is my favorite one to use.

How can I not include a deodorant in my summer must-have, it is a life saver that keeps us fresh and odor-free throughout the day. I just got The Gun'ner Deodorant Powder from Lush. I am very excited to try out this natural deodorant without harmful chemicals. I did a post about deodorant ingredients, you might want to check it out. I am still testing out this new product, and I will do a review about it soon.

What are your summer must-have beauty products?

  2. Wonderful post. I love aloe vera. I used to put open an aloe vera plant an apply it to my healing scar. I am always looking for new and better natural deodorants. I will check out the one from Lush. :) Have a wonderful Sunday

  8. Nars Laguna is also one of my Summer must haves but I use it more as an all over bronzer. That Laura Mercier powder is in my wishlist at the moment. Hopefully I'll get my hands on it soon. x
